This is not a new quest. This may be a lifelong quest. Maybe my ultimate quest. I have no luck with the makers of beat. Drummers are like the hot chicks in the bar: everybody wants them, needs them, but they play to many other dudes. BTW…if you know a drummer, give them my name.

one drummer came with his mother
another drummers brother was a better beat maker
another drummer brought only a shaker
we looked at him funny but he cooked like a baker
one drummer couldn’t get a ride
one drummer would only use the ride cymbal
one drummer and the singer could barely act civil
one drummer spoke exclusively in riddles

one drummer brought his dog
another drummer left behind his addictions
one drummer vanished like he was a magician
another drummer had courage, but too many convictions
one drummer left half way through
another drummer brought a delightful beef stew
another drummer was funner than all the other drummers
but played in to many groups (as they all do)

a summer of drummers is no fun
until you find one
and the feet start moving, the beat gets grooving

one drummer couldn’t drink because he got hostile
another drummer drank and ended up in the hospital
one drummer dropped acid whenever it was possible
one drummer hit so soft it wasn’t audible
one drummer was dumber than a canned ham
one drummer would stop when we started to jam
one drummer had the feel of a program
one drummer was caught up in a booking scam
