about

This song exists for one reason. Lucky Money Oil. If you were conscious in the 80s you may remember seeing these in a variety of 7 11s and Wawa's in your travels. A small bottle of oil that if you use will bring you great fortune. The downside is that it smelled like Patchouli and Grim Death. This song is about spilling that oil in your car and rolling up the windows IN THE Summer Sun to see which of your friends could last the longest before ejecting

lyrics

Cadged the name from a revolutionary
a violent history that sways and staggers
It all came apart on a Sunday
lidded eyes shooting daggers
The smell of asphalt churning to tar
Lucky money oil polluted the car
And windows rolled up to test the limits
Discovered… in minutes
Trouble breaks the ground and the wound blossoms
Houston, we got a problem

Shaken and baked in the Northeast Kingdom
Never fell south of The Commonwealth
Left unburdened by a decent income
Trading up leisure for wealth
Living out loud with enthusiasm
As long as you're not paying
A dime a dance at the dollar club
playing them like they are laying
and a new cross cracks for every angel fallen
And Houston, we have a problem

Whipped into frenzy by prevailing winds
Rumor and lies and lesser sins
a car trunk full of bad ideas
a glove box full of fake id's
A state cop in the rearview
Our history flashing red and blue
Where else could it go to?
With creeps like me and you
He reaches for his gun, your reaching for the volume
Houston…..
